Step 1: Send a request
Pick a home, choose your dates and add your pet. Your pet’s profile needs their core vaccinations up to date, such as rabies and DHPPi for dogs, and rabies and tricat for cats.
You can ask more than one host at a time.
-
Step 2: Hear back within a day
The host has 24 hours to accept or decline. If they decline or don’t reply in time, the request closes and Cooky shows you similar homes nearby.
Until a host accepts, you see only their neighbourhood, not the address.
-
Step 3: Chat, ask everything
Once the host accepts, chat opens and you can see the home’s exact address. Ask about walks, food, other pets, and anything else that matters to you.
Never send money to anyone you haven’t met at their home.
-
Step 4: Meet at the home
Visit before the stay, not on drop-off day. Go through the safety checklist: see where your pet will sleep, check grills and gates, and see the host’s government ID in person.
Cooky doesn’t check hosts, so this visit is where you do.
-
Step 5: Agree the stay, pay the host
Agree the dates, the price, daily photo updates and the nearest vet, then both confirm in the app. Pay the host directly, the way you agreed.
Cooky never takes, holds or processes money for a stay.
-
Step 6: Review each other
When the stay ends, you both have 14 days to write a review. Neither of you sees the other’s first, and reviews only come from stays you both confirmed.
Something went wrong? Report it in the app at any time.
How it works · for pet parents
Request, chat, meet first, then agree.
Cooky connects you with a host near you. Everything after that, from the visit to the price, is agreed between you and the host, and Cooky’s safety checklist helps you get it right.

Six steps, from request to review
01 Before you ask
What your pet needs first
A request carries your pet’s profile, so the host knows who’s coming. These are the things it needs.
-
For a dog
Core vaccinations up to date: rabies and DHPPi (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and parainfluenza). Kennel cough is recommended too, especially if there are other dogs at the home.
-
For a cat
Core vaccinations up to date: rabies and tricat (FVRCP). Ask whether your cat will have a quiet room to settle into.
-
Their routine
Food, medicines, walks, fears and habits. Add them to your pet’s profile, and bring the vaccination card when you visit.
02 What Cooky does, and doesn’t
Cooky isn’t part of the payment
The rate on a host’s page is a guide the host sets. You agree the final price together and pay the host directly. Cooky doesn’t add a booking fee, take a cut or hold money for either of you, and nobody from Cooky will ever ask you to pay for a stay.
Report and block, any time
Every profile, home and chat has Report and Block. Reports are private, a person on our team reads every one, and we can hide listings and remove accounts. If anyone is in danger, call your local emergency number first.
For hosts
The same steps, from your side
A request comes in, you reply within 24 hours, you meet the pet and their parent at your home, and you agree the stay. You set your rate, and you’re paid directly.
03 Questions
Asked a lot
How does a request work?
Choose a home, add your dates and your pet, and send a request to connect. The host has 24 hours to accept or decline. If they accept, chat opens and you can see the exact address so you can visit. If they decline or don’t reply, Cooky shows you similar homes nearby. See how it works.
Which vaccinations does my pet need?
To send a request, your pet’s profile needs their core vaccinations up to date: for dogs, rabies and DHPPi (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and parainfluenza), with kennel cough recommended too; for cats, rabies and tricat (FVRCP). Cooky keeps what you enter; the host checks the certificates when you meet.
When can I see the host’s address?
After the host accepts your request. Until then, search and the map show only the rough area, a circle around the neighbourhood, never the exact address.
What if something goes wrong during a stay?
If you, your pet or anyone else is in danger, call your local emergency number. For a sick or injured pet, go to the nearest vet; agree which one with the host before the stay. Then report the host in the app. Our team reads every report and can hide listings and remove accounts. Cooky isn’t part of the stay or the payment, so the arrangement itself is between you and the host.
