About Cooky

What is Cooky?

Cooky helps pet parents find someone nearby with room at home to look after their dog or cat while they’re away. You see at least five photos of every home, chat with the host once they accept your request, meet them at their home, and agree the stay together. Cooky is made by Ivies.

Is Cooky a pet hostel or a kennel?

No. Cooky doesn’t run a pet hostel, dog hostel or kennel, and it doesn’t look after pets itself. Hosts are people who look after pets in their own homes. Cooky helps you find them and get in touch.

When can I get Cooky?

Soon, on Android through Google Play. The iPhone app follows.

Which pets and stays can I find on Cooky?

Overnight stays for dogs and cats. Daycare and home visits come later.

How do I sign in?

With your Google account on Android, and with Google or Apple on iPhone. There are no Cooky passwords and no OTPs.

Who can use Cooky?

Adults aged 18 or over. Cooky isn’t for children, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

For pet parents

Does Cooky check hosts?

No. Cooky confirms only the Google or Apple account a host signs in with. It reviews home photos before they go live and acts on reports, but it doesn’t check IDs, homes or backgrounds, and it never gives anyone a badge that says they’ve been checked. That’s why every host page and chat links to the safety checklist: meet the host at their home, see their government ID in person and check the space yourself before you agree anything.

Why does every home need five photos?

So you can picture your pet there before you ask. Every home needs at least five approved photos: the living space, where pets sleep, the balcony or garden, the entrance and gates, and where food is kept. A home with fewer than five doesn’t show up in search.

How does a request work?

Choose a home, add your dates and your pet, and send a request to connect. The host has 24 hours to accept or decline. If they accept, chat opens and you can see the exact address so you can visit. If they decline or don’t reply, Cooky shows you similar homes nearby. See how it works.

Which vaccinations does my pet need?

To send a request, your pet’s profile needs their core vaccinations up to date: for dogs, rabies and DHPPi (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and parainfluenza), with kennel cough recommended too; for cats, rabies and tricat (FVRCP). Cooky keeps what you enter; the host checks the certificates when you meet.

When can I see the host’s address?

After the host accepts your request. Until then, search and the map show only the rough area, a circle around the neighbourhood, never the exact address.

What if something goes wrong during a stay?

If you, your pet or anyone else is in danger, call your local emergency number. For a sick or injured pet, go to the nearest vet; agree which one with the host before the stay. Then report the host in the app. Our team reads every report and can hide listings and remove accounts. Cooky isn’t part of the stay or the payment, so the arrangement itself is between you and the host.

Money and Cooky Plus

How much does pet boarding on Cooky cost?

Each host sets their own nightly rate, in their own currency, and shows it on their page as a guide. You agree the final price with the host. Cooky doesn’t add a booking fee or take a cut of the stay.

How do I pay the host?

Directly, in whatever way you both agree, such as a bank transfer, a payment app or cash. Cooky never takes, holds or processes money for stays, so there’s nothing to pay in the app for a stay. Agree the price and how you’ll pay before the stay starts, and don’t send money to anyone you haven’t met at their home.

What is Cooky Plus?

Optional, paid extras for people who use Cooky a lot. For pet parents: unlimited requests, first in line in a host’s inbox, new-host alerts and smart filters. For hosts: a featured spot on Explore, interest insights and quick replies. Prices aren’t set yet. More about Cooky Plus.

How do I cancel Cooky Plus?

In the store you bought it from. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. A subscription stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for.

For hosts

How do I become a host?

In the app, switch to hosting and create a listing with at least five photos of your home, a few facts, your house rules and your nightly rate. One Cooky account can be a pet parent and a host. See hosting with Cooky.

What does a host earn?

Whatever you charge. You set your own rate, and the pet parent pays you directly. Cooky takes no commission on stays. You’re responsible for any tax on what you earn.

Do I have to accept every request?

No. You choose who stays. Accept or decline each request within 24 hours, and meet the pet and their parent at your home before you agree a stay.

Who sees my home address?

Only a pet parent whose request you’ve accepted. Search and the map show an approximate area, and Cooky removes location details hidden in your photo files before anyone else sees them.

Your account and data

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to You, then Delete account. You can also email support@theivies.in. What gets deleted, and when.

What does Cooky do with my data?

Cooky uses your data to run the app: your account, pet profiles, listings, requests and chats. It doesn’t sell your data or show you ads. The privacy policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and your rights.
